Sip Delicious Craft Beer at Virginia Beach Breweries

Believe it or not, the world's oldest brewery dates back to 1040 AD. It's found in Bavaria, and monks produced the early beers. While none of our Virginia Beach breweries are this old, they do create some of the tastiest beers in town. Here are the spots to pull up a stool near our apartments in Virginia Beach.

Wasserhund Brewing Company

Born out of a love of German beer and creative food, the Wasserhund Brewing Company is where visitors feel at home. The idea for the brewery was born during Aaron and Christine's trip to Germany. They wanted to bring the feeling they enjoyed in the country's beer gardens home to Virginia Beach. In the taproom, you'll find a vibrant atmosphere. It's where strangers often become friends, and you can even learn a few words of German. Beers include Doggy Paddle, Purebred Pilsner, and Strawberry Ginger Gose.

Young Veterans Brewing Company

Veteran-owned and operated, Young Veterans serves some of the finest local craft beer in Hampton Roads. The brewers create using water and high-quality barley, hops, and yeast. They're known for their attention to detail and strive to keep the menu new and exciting. Beers include Bottom Rock, Gummy Neutron, and Don't Drink After Midnight.

Vibrant Shore Brewing

What was once a garage, body shop, and workout gym is now home to Vibrant Shore Brewing. The building dates back to 1958 and boasts a retro industrial design. Brewery founder, Rhett Rebold, was a homebrewer in the 1990s. Today, he enjoys sharing his unforgettable creations with others. Rebold uses local ingredients when possible and often works with area farmers who use the brewery's spent grain for cattle and hog feed. Beers include Jack the Dripper Gose, Wet Hopped IPA, and Melting Clock Historic IPA Lager.
