Take a Ride on These Biking Trails in Virginia Beach

There’s nothing quite like feeling the wind in your hair on a long bike ride. If you're a resident of our apartments near Tidewater Community College, you can even mix in sightseeing and explore nature on nearby trails. Here are a few of our favorites:

Bald Cypress Trail

The Bald Cypress trail can be found at 2513 Shorehaven Dr, Virginia Beach. This great trail is just a short drive from home at The Apartments at Spence Crossing. It's an excellent trail for beginner cyclists since it's only 1.6 miles long. In addition, true to its name, there are lots of bald cypress trees along the trail. This is in addition to wildflowers, boardwalks, platforms, wetlands, and more.

Indian River Park

The 90-acre Indian River Park also has some of the best Virginia Beach biking trails. Some are on the northwest side of the park while others are on the southeast side. However, the distance from home to these two park entrances is almost the same, and it should take about a 15 minute drive to get there. Try the option on the southeast side if you’re an experienced cyclist. After all, there are multiple changes to the elevation as you go around the trail.

Great Neck Park

Another awesome choice is the trail at the 70-acre Great Neck Park. At 11.5 miles long, the trail is fairly long, which offers a fun challenge. What’s more, it offers some nice sightseeing and photo opportunities along the way. Enjoy a smooth cycle through these paved trails. Better yet, the park is just a few minutes away.

On your way to these Virginia Beach biking trails, you can stop by local juice and smoothie shops to pick up beverages. That way, you can stay hydrated while cycling. If you have additional questions about life in our apartments in Virginia Beach, contact us. We look forward to hearing from you.
